Scarecrow's Gambit

You are a scarecrow. You want to grow 25 mature crops! You'll need to plant seeds, keep the soil watered and protect crops from the hungry CROWS!

To navigate around your field, you can switch out a head for the scarecrow to wear. Each head corresponds to a chess-piece, which empowers the scarecrow's movement. Be cautious though, as your movement can also harm your crops.

HOW TO PLAY

ACTIONS

• Press C or click the scarecrow to see which tiles you can move to.
• Press S or click the seed container to see which tiles you can plant a seed on.
• Press W or click the water container to see which tiles you can water.
• Click a highlighted tile to move to / plant / water.
• Click the Pawn / Horse / Castle / Bishop / King / Queen "heads" to change the scarecrows  movement mode.
• Move adjacent to a water well to refill your water once its depleted.
  
• Move within 1 tile (8 neighbours) of a crow to scare it away.
• MOVE, PLANT, WATER, HEAD CHANGE actions all consume a turn.
• After each turn, soil may dry, crops may grow, and crows may misbehave!

CROPS

• Soil can be either Dry, Normal, Wet or Very Wet.
• Crops will only grow in Normal or Wet soil.
• Soil dries out over time (turns taken).
• Crops grow over time (turns taken).
• The life-cycle of a crop is Seed > Sapling > Juvenile > Mature.
• Once matured, crops no longer need watering.
• Only mature crops contribute to the Crop Goal (win condition). 
• Ending your movement on a Sapling+ crop will destroy it.
• Moving through Juvenile+ crops will destroy them.
• Mature crops block movement.
• Horse movement is the only type that lets you leap over crops. 

CROWS

• Crows in nearby trees have a chance to fly to one of your crops.
• When a crow is sat on your crop,  it may eat your crop after a few turns.
• Crops are destroyed when eaten and the crows return to their tree.
• End your movement within 1 tile (8 neighbour) of a crow to scare them away.
• Scared crows do not return to their tree; new crows will come back to the trees over time.
• The max limit of crows increases over time (turns taken).
